High School Sports Photography Requires:

  • Great image quality (a function of lens quality and camera resolution)
  • High ISO capability (Most sports require at least ISO 3200; cross country and track don't.)
  • Lots of frames per second (You want to be able to shoot 5 fps bursts or better to get that perfect picture.)
  • Quick adjustability (You have to be able to make changes to camera settings quickly and intuitively.)

[If you get the A700, make sure to upgrade to V4 of the firmware. This makes the A700 fully competitive with the Nikon D300. [Online reviews will not show V4 firmware and therefore don't do the current A700 justice.]]
